Initial Teacher Training

​

If you are interested in becoming a secondary school teacher, either through a SCITT (school-centred initial teacher training) programme or a PSGE, could be a great way for you to do it. We are currently reviewing the places for September 2024.

The SKITT programme allows you to be based at our school, gaining qualified teacher status (QTS) and a postgraduate certificate in education (PGCE). The PGCE is delivered by local SCITT programmes and awarded by the affiliated University. You will spend 4 days a week at St Andrew's and 1 day a week where you will reflect and develop on your practice alongside other trainee teachers.
