Outreach
We continue to build our work with and in our local community. We align with six local charities, which were chosen by our student body, and undertake fundraising activities throughout the year to support them. This year our students have changed some of our charities to enable us to widen our work in the community.
Our six charities are:
-
(New) Ferring Country Centre – Training and experience for people with learning disabilities
-
(New)Turning Tides – Endling local homelessness
-
(New) Blind Veterans based in Rustington – helping vision impaired ex-service men and women
-
Safe in Sussex – Support for people affected by domestic violence
-
SID Youth – Supporting young people
-
Worthing Food Foundation – A non-referral food bank
We will share our activities on this page, and through social media, throughout the year. Should you feel able to support any fundraising activities, we know that any contributions, not matter the size, will make a difference.
Harvest Festival - Autumn
At St Andrew’s we are guided by our Christian faith and have long celebrated harvest festival. Each year we collect items that will be useful to families who need this, we will again be collecting for Worthing Food Foundation.
Reverse Advert - Autumn
As we move into the period of advent, we look at ways we can give back to our local community. We will again be supporting Safe in Sussex and this year our new charity Turning Tides and encourage students and their families to help us in this.
Christmas and Summer Fair - Autumn and Summer
Each year our students plan and run their stalls at our school Christmas fair. Whilst students can earn ‘tokens’ to spend, we also accept small amounts of cash which will be donated between: Sid Youth, Ferring Country Centre and Blind Veterans.
